Student Life at Shalom
FEEDING PROGRAM.
The school has a feeding program for the children to enable them have a better learning. We provide the pupils with cups and plates to reduce on the burden of carrying them from their homes. Through the feeding program the learners' education has greatly improved. To some children this is the only meal they get while at school.
Since our budget for the feeding program is still too small, we cannot afford to provide a balanced diet for the children. We only provide porridge (maize flour) without any accompaniment at
CHAPLAINACY
Despite the fact that our school is a Christian school, we enroll all children regardless of their religious background. They are given the freedom of worship. We conduct general prayers in the school for all the children and we invite a Pastor or Reverend. The teachers also help to conduct bible studies and prayer sessions with the children in the evenings.
STUDENTS REPRESENTATION
Students are encouraged to participate in democratic leadership by electing their own representatives called prefects. There is the Head prefect, assistant head prefect and members representing various interest groups and various departments like health, environment, sports and games, music, dance and drama and others.
The prefects body has independent powers and help the students to develop a sense of self responsibility and help the school administration to keep the school in order.
